+Luminary was created by Doctor Raymond Keyes, otherwise known as [[Positron]], as a wedding present for his friend, Kit Rafter.  Rafter was otherwise known as the first "Luminary", and was retiring to spend time with his bride, famed fashion model Jeannette.  Worried that Rafter would feel "compelled" to return to a life as a hero, Jeannette asked Keyes to build the android so Kit would know there was no need for him to return.
