'''Takofanes''', otherwise known as the '''Arch-Lich''', is one of the most powerful sorcerers in the world of [[Champions Online MMO]].

He is the supernatural force responsible for creating the annual [[Blood Moon Event]].

=Character History=

Once upon a time, he was Kal-Turak, a sorcerer who conquered much of the world during the time of the Turakian Age.

Prior to his first defeat and death, he vowed that the world would never be rid of him. True to his word, he returned as '''Takofanes the Arch-Lich''', the lord and master of the undead. His army of undead minions, from all of the soldiers ever killed, would overwhelm the world. Anyone who opposed him would not only die, but would join his undead legion and serve him unquestionably.

A collection of the most powerful sorcerers of the time were finally able to stop Takofanes. They lacked the power to destroy him, as he had become death incarnate, but they were able to force him to sleep. He was then placed in a special crypt and buried deep in the planet.

Sadly, an [[ARGENT|oil drilling team]] cracked open the crypt in the 1980's. Takofanes awoke and began anew his crusade to take the world of the living. But he was not as powerful as he once was. The eons of slumber depleted much of his abilities. In addition the supernatural energy that used to be in abundance during his age had greatly been minimized since then.

Takofanes had to bide his time, slowly getting powerful enough to make his move on the world, but only for a limited time when supernatural energy from the Qliphothic plane was at its zenith. That time would be known as the "Blood Moon Event".

=Powers and Abilities=

Takofanes is a very powerful sorcerer who can manipulate [[Expanded_Model#M_Particles|M particles]] from the Qliphothic plane to control the undead and other supernatural being such as werewolves. The level of his ability varies, but, even at his most minimal, he is more powerful than most heroes alive.

=Personality=

Whatever humanity that Kal-Turak once possessed when he was alive died with him. Takofanes is fixated only on conquest and dominion. He cannot be reasoned with, intimidated, or bargained. Whatever reserve he could have had was lost when he was confined in the crypt for eons, and he has vowed to never endure that again.
